15 WTF Moments from WWE SmackDown (March 24)

source// wwe.com
SmackDown has undoubtedly improved since the turn of the year. Adding the distinctive voice of Mauro Ranallo to proceedings can only be considered a plus, the former MMA announcer provides a more unique flavour than the company drones who would otherwise call the
action. Compared to the past number of years, during which SmackDown had become little more than Raw-lite, the program is on fire right now.
Overall, it’s an extremely enjoyable 2-hour addition to WWE’s weekly lineup of programming. This is something that’s been a long time coming
for the show, and the same could be said of Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler’s  recent heel turn. As a villainous announcer, Lawler is a riot.
On this week’s show, he made light of Ranallo’s product knowledge, and it just seems like the guys situated behind the commentary desk are having more fun again on SmackDown. Somewhere in there, Lawler also called for a move entitled the ‘Ok-Dokey-Arti-Chokey’. It was hilarious, yet also must be considered a true WTF moment.
The King was just having some laughs, also calling for another move called the ‘Inoki Magasushi’, or something…
As riotous as Lawler was, he wasn’t the only one seeking some fun. Some of the signs in the crowd seemed to suggest that Brock Lesnar has a little bathroom trouble from time to time too.

15. Mauro Ranallo Calls Sheamus A 'Celtic Cockerel'

In the midst of a spirited battle between Kofi Kingston and Sheamus, Mauro Ranallo decided to call the big Irishman the ‘Celtic Cockerel’.
Clearly, this was in reference to his spiky, mohawk-style hairdo. At least, fans should hope that’s what it is, and that there are no secret plans to turn Sheamus into a modern-day version of Terry Taylor’s awful ‘Red Rooster’ character!

14. 'Dem Piped In Boos

Up to their old tricks, the WWE production staff wanted to discourage fans from cheering Kevin Owens on SmackDown, and thus chose to pipe in that terrible false heat they’ve been using for years.
Seriously guys, it’s time to update those stock crowd noises. People were visibly supporting Owens as he strolled to the ring, yet the audio track suggested he was the most hated man in the entire building.

13. Kevin Owens Encourages The Miz To Take Some Notes

The beauty of Kevin Owens is that he doesn’t only act like a nuisance around babyfaces, he doesn’t get along with heels either. On Smackdown, after dropping Dolph Ziggler mid-ring he encouraged The Miz (his tag-team partner for the evening) to take some notes.
Likely trying his best not to laugh, Sami Zayn was caught on camera staring a hole into the back of KO’s skull. The camera lingered just long enough on the look to become slightly uncomfortable!

12. 'Dem Piped In Cheers

As sure as piping in booing is a surefire way to look hokey, doing the same with cheering can actually be much worse. Those ‘cheers’ WWE have used for years sound more like somebody turning on their vacuum cleaner, rather than a crowd of people excitedly greeting a top hero.
Much of the jeering was stifled out, but there was more genuine heat for Roman Reigns on SmackDown than there had been for Kevin Owens earlier. Oops.

11. Air Kingston!

Spinning back around following interference from ‘King’ Barrett, Kofi Kingston wandered right into the path of his Irish rival’s big Brogue Kick. Instead of simply taking a back bump, Kofi put his all into the bump for Sheamus, and it looked absolutely wonderful.
It was a fitting conclusion to the match between both men, and it looked like Kingston had been totally creamed.

10. Booty O's Are Over

Just look at Big E’s happy face, it was only matched by fans actually bringing cereal boxes to wave around in the crowd.
Booty O’s, the most over food product in WWE.

9. The New Day Enlist A New Dance Partner

Joining in on the laughs shared by The New Day, a WWE staff member started shaking his booty for the duo.
Holding a basketball hoop above his head from behind, Xavier Woods watched as Kingston dunked a mini-ball through the net and right onto the poor sap’s head. Credit to him for selling it like a stiff strike from WWE Hall Of Fame inductee Stan Hansen. That’s called making the best of your short cameo.

8. The Ascension Just Chill Out On Some Tables

Draped across some tables by Jimmy and Jey, The Ascension looked wholly awkward as they just wished they were doing something/anything else.
Even after The Usos had hit twin splashes from the top rope, sending the heel team through tables, they looked less in pain and more bored by what was going on.

7. Even The Dudleyz Are Laughing At Poor Roman

Confronting the tag-team backstage after they had made fun of The Wild Samoans, Reigns looked bemused as The Dudleyz had a right good laugh in his direction. Granted, it didn’t last long, but it was still baffling to have the legendary tandem literally laughing in Roman’s face.
He’s still on course to be the top babyface, right?

6. Staking An Early Claim

Come on, WWE, the people want it to happen! Even Kevin Owens appeared to have a quick glance at this particular sign, and he’d likely agree that Owen Hart would be a fine addition to the WWE Hall Of Fame.
He’s certainly more valid than his old tag partner, Koko B. Ware.

5. Shane McMahon (Next UFC Phenom)

Those tuning into SmackDown would be forgiven for believing that Shane McMahon is the next coming of Conor McGregor. During a short video package to hype Shane’s upcoming match against The Undertaker, everyone from Shawn Michaels and Edge, to John Cena and even Mick Foley, discussed the only McMahon son as though he was well on course to becoming the world’s premier fighting machine.

4. Goldust's Latex Pyjamas

It’s not uncommon for strange things to be found underneath the ring at WWE shows. Tables, chairs, ladders, thumb tacks, kendo sticks, sledgehammers and more have been seen under there in recent years, and even Hornswoggle decided he liked it so much he’d start calling it home. It turns out it’s also the ideal place for Goldust to keep his pyjamas.
Seriously, he actually said that during a promo.

3. Sasha Banks Calls Ric Flair Daddy

Previously, he kissed Becky Lynch on live TV, and now Ric Flair has another Diva reaching out to him in other ways. On SmackDown, Sasha Banks imitated Flair’s trademark strutting. In the midst of this, she even called Ric “daddy”, which definitely wasn’t supposed to sound as weird as it came across.
It seems Flair is still a favourite with the ladies.

2. Charlotte Can't Woo Properly

Most wrestling fans have been there, seeing chops accompanied by the standard ‘Woo’ calls at live events. There’s always that one person who can’t do it properly.
Next time that happens, have a look round, it may just be the WWE Divas Champion.

1. Brock Lesnar Wears What!?

A pair of simple signs, one reading ‘Brock Lesnar Wears Fart Pants’ and another saying ‘The Beast Incontinent’. Wow, that’s quite the turn of events. Can anyone imagine this kind of thing happening to Steve Austin during his prime?
What have WWE done to their audience!?
